New use of geospatial technology helps farmers manage their land. Ohio State's Nathan Watermeier (Program Leader, Technology, Ohio State University Extension) is helping farmers and all Ohioans with a new use of geospatial technologies. Watermeier and others are working with systems which allow farmers to manage their land and crops more accurately. With this technology, farmers can efficiently apply the right amount of fertilizer and other applications the crops need. This saves money and also helps the environment by limiting excess chemical run-off in our streams and lakes.
